Literally throwing together a set for a production of “Rumors” by the Almost Famous Theater Company at the venue. They’re a new theater group just starting to get their legs under the direction of acting school instructors known for their commercial and film casting. Wonderful folks, but when it comes to theater they’re still finding their legs. After throwing their last show together in less than one day, they may have a bit too much faith in my skills. But, I already have the nearly 50 sound effects set and done, and if I scramble I can focus and hang the 24 instruments and get the (very light) 25 light cues set.
Now, to get the stagehand who is helping up to speed via email and text tomorrow before I can get out of studio session in Phoenix and over to Scottsdale before their “dress” rehearsal by 5:30. 2 hours is more than enough time to write a two act play’s worth of cues… right?
